The Eventcube Ticket Scanner is a free, native scanning app built directly into the Eventcube platform. It turns any smart device with a camera into a powerful check-in tool.

Designed for events of all sizes, the scanner delivers instant QR code validation, real-time attendance tracking, and seamless syncing across all devices simultaneously.

Note: iOS App Store support is coming soon. In the meantime, iPhone users can scan via a web browser at manage.eventcube.io/scanner.

Key Benefits for Event Organizers

No additional software or hardware costs

The scanner app is free to download and use. It's integrated into your existing Eventcube account, so there's nothing extra to pay for or set up.

Real-time check-in visibility from the admin dashboard

As tickets are scanned at the door, your Eventcube admin panel updates in real time. You'll see a live count of tickets scanned alongside the percentage of total tickets checked in, mirroring the stats displayed in the scanner app itself.

This means your event management team and your door team are always looking at the same numbers, without needing to call or message each other for updates.

Multi-device support with live syncing

Running multiple entry points? Each device logs in under a separate user account and scans independently, but all check-ins sync to the same event in real time. Every device sees the same up-to-date guest list, so a ticket scanned at one gate is instantly blocked at another.

Instant duplicate ticket detection

The scanner flags duplicate tickets immediately, showing the date and time the ticket was first scanned. This helps your team confidently handle potential fraud at the door without slowing down the queue.

Manual check-in and check-out

For higher-touch events, door staff can search for guests by name and manually check them in or out without needing a QR code scan.

All checked-in guests appear under a dedicated Checked In tab, while outstanding guests remain visible in the Outstanding tab.

What You'll See in the Admin Panel

When your door team begins scanning, the Ticket Scanning section of your event admin updates automatically. You don't need to refresh or take any action; the data comes to you.

This is particularly useful for event managers who are not physically at the door; you can monitor arrival progress remotely from any device with access to your Eventcube admin.

When a ticket is successfully scanned, you'll have an indicator in the admin. Visit the order page for that particular ticket and find the check icon under 'Scan'. This is especially useful for attendance verification and refund decisions.

Understanding Scan Feedback

The scanner provides immediate visual feedback for every scan:

What it means

✓ Guest Check-In Successful

The QR code is valid. The attendee's name and ticket barcode are displayed for identity verification before entry.

✗ Barcode Already Scanned

The ticket has already been scanned. The screen shows the date and time of the original scan, helping identify duplicate or shared tickets.

⚠ No Tickets Found

The QR code does not match any ticket for this event. This prevents guests from using tickets purchased for a different event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use multiple devices to scan at the same time?

Yes. Multiple devices can scan simultaneously, provided each device is logged in to a separate Eventcube user account. All devices must have a strong, stable internet connection to sync check-ins in real time.

Do I need to buy hardware scanners?

No, any Android or Apple device (e.g., phone or tablet) is sufficient for most events. For high-volume, enterprise events where speed and reliability are critical, Eventcube can advise on dedicated hardware scanner options.

Get in touch with the support team via your admin panel or by emailing sales@eventcube.io to discuss this.

Is the Eventcube Scanner available on iPhone?

The iOS app is coming soon. In the meantime, iPhone users can access the scanner via a web browser at manage.eventcube.io/scanner.

How do I give door staff access to scan tickets?

Each scanner must be logged in to a unique Eventcube user account with Admin-level access. You can add new users and assign an Admin role.
