Devices Page Overview

An overview of the Devices page in your Eventcube Ticket Store — what it is, why it matters, and how Device Groups work.

The Device page gives you control over which devices can access your events and what they can do. Rather than sharing admin login credentials with door staff, Device Groups let you grant scanner access securely with permissions you define and PINs you can revoke at any time. This keeps your store data protected while making it easy to onboard multiple scanning devices across your events.

The Devices page is found under Store Settings in your Ticket Store dashboard. It is live and available on all Eventcube stores with no additional setup or plan upgrade required.

What are Device Groups?

Device Groups let you control what each scanner or POS device can access and do. You can create multiple groups, for example, one group for general door staff and another for VIP entry, and assign different permissions and event access to each.

Each Device Group has a Type (Scanner or POS), a set of permissions, and a defined scope of access across your events.

Device Group permissions

When creating or editing a Device Group, you can toggle the following permissions on or off:

Scanner:

1. Allow ticket scanning — enables the device to scan QR codes at the door.

2. View event analytics — allows the device to see attendance and check-in stats.

3. View guest names — displays the attendee's name upon a successful scan.

POS:

1. Cash settlement—enables cash payment and confirmation.

2. Apply discount—select a discount that can be applied to a ticket sale.

Event access

You can choose what events a Device Group can access:

1. All events in the store — the group can scan tickets for every event in your store.

2. I want to choose what this group can access — restrict access by event category or specific events. You can select multiple.

Adding devices to a group

Once a Device Group is created, click Add Devices next to the group name. This opens a connection panel where you can generate a Device PIN and QR code to log a scanner into that group.
