Eventcube offers a variety of discount codes to suit your needs. These can be easily created and applied through the discount section of your store.

How to create discount codes

1. From your Dashboard, head to the Discounts tab.

2. Click Create Discount.

3. Once at Discounts, you can select one of three ways to apply your discount.

  • By 'Selected Event(s)' - Create a discount for one or more events, or particular tickets within events

  • Via 'All Events' - Create a discount that works across all events on your Eventcube store

  • Or by 'Category' - Create a discount that is applied to all events within a particular category

4. Next, you are given the option to select your desired event(s) and choose the ticket(s) you would like the discount to apply to.

5. Once you have selected your event and tickets, click "Next Step".

From here, there are three discount options.

  • Single code - Create a single code like 'BLACKFRIDAY' that can be redeemed multiple times. You can then select how many times this code can be redeemed by customers.

  • Create Unique Codes - Create a CSV file of unique codes that can only be redeemed once.

Note: When the discount quantity and fixed amount have been confirmed, you will receive an email with your unique codes. These codes will also be available to view within the claimed discounts section.

  • Upload Unique Codes - Alternatively, if you'd like to create the codes yourself, you can upload a CSV of unique codes that can only be redeemed once.

Now you've created your code, your discount will be live and ready to be applied by the customer at checkout. These will then show at the bottom of your 'Discounts' section when they have been redeemed.

Remember, the promo code section won't show when no discounts are active!

6. Once you have selected your discount code, enter the duration which your discount will be active.

7. Finally, select your discount type:

  • Fixed Amount - Takes the same amount off of tickets (e.g., $10 off)

  • Percentage - Takes a percentage off of tickets (e.g., 5% off)

Once your discounts are set, your customers can redeem them at the checkout page on your ticket store.

Important: Once you have successfully created a discount code, you cannot go back and edit its details. Discount codes are intentionally locked in order to avoid skewing the reporting.

How to send unique codes to customers using MailChimp

There are two steps that you need to follow for this process:

Step 1: Create a field for coupon codes on each contact on your list

  1. Go to Audience.

  2. Click All Contacts.

  3. Hover on Settings.

  4. Click Audience Fields and Merge Tags.

  5. Hit the Add a Field button.

  6. Name your field (e.g., Coupon Code).

  7. Save your changes.

Step 2: Upload the CSV file of unique codes that you generated using Eventcube

  1. Prepare a spreadsheet with all your relevant MailChimp contacts in the first column.

  2. In the second column, assign a unique code for each contact.

  3. Upload your CSV file to MailChimp.

    1. Go to your contacts/segment.

    2. Hover on Add Contacts.

    3. Select Import Contacts.

    4. Upload the CSV file.

    5. Organise your contacts.

    6. Check the box for 'Update any existing contacts'.

    7. Save and proceed to match a field for each column.

    8. Important: Ensure to tag the field you created earlier, "Coupon Code", to the column in the CSV file that contains your unique discount codes.

    9. Finalise your import.

  4. Now, if you want to attach the unique discount code in your email campaign editor, simply insert the merge tag for the Coupon Code.
