You can't oversell tickets on Eventcube once they go on sale. However, if you sold more tickets than your venue capacity, here's what you can do:
Overselling an event
1. Contact affected customers immediately via your mailing list.
Note: Eventcube doesn't have a built-in email marketing feature to deliver custom broadcast emails to ticket holders. Its Reminder Email function is only intended to resend confirmation emails to ticket holders.
To contact customers, you will need an external email marketing platform, such as MailChimp. See: How to Send Communication Emails to your Customers.
2. Provide clear, honest explanations about what happened.
3. Revoke each customer's tickets, cancel orders, and offer refunds to customers.
Upgrade or downgrade a ticket
If you oversold a seat type, you can either upgrade a customer to a higher tier (free of charge) or downgrade them and refund the difference in ticket price.
Here's how you can change a customer's ticket:
1. Go to their order.
2. Click the three dots next to the ticket or perform a bulk action by selecting multiple tickets.
2. Click Revoke ticket.
4. A side bar will pop up, requiring you to provide a reason for the action.
5. Enter your reason and click the red Revoke button.
4. Once tickets have been revoked, you can now allocate a new ticket within the order. Click the "Allocate Ticket" button, then select the event, ticket type, and quantity.
5. Save your changes.
If a ticket change isn't possible, then you might need to cancel the ticket order completely and offer a refund to your customers.
